Portable air cooled MRI chiller is used for cooling MRI machine,which can be made a wide range of capacities from 1/2 tons to 60 tons chillers with environmental friendly R134A, R407C and R410A refrigerant options. The MRI chiller provides the most efficient water cooling source for the magnet equipment and ensure the medical equipment runs efficiently. All our portable air cooled MRI chillers are with CE certification and 12 months warranty.

    Portable Air Cooled MRI Chiller 



    Portable air cooled MRI chiller, also known as an air-cooled box-type chiller unit for MRI machines, which can make MRI machines to work efficiently and make their magnets inside stay cool at all times. This chiller machines cool MRI machines, radiation therapy cancer treatment machines, CT scans, and other medical equipment and laboratory applications. 

    Portable air cooled MRI chiller utilizes a air-cooled heat dissipation design. It draws surrounding air into the equipment using built-in fans and dissipates heat through a condenser, thereby reducing the system temperature. It does not require an additional water cooling system such as water cooling tower and is relatively easy to install and maintain.
     
    Portable air cooled MRI chiller is built with 304 stainless steel coil in water tank evaporator ,SS water pump and compressor with R410a/R407c refrigeration.  Each model is equipped with a range of safety features, including motor overload protection, phase loss and phase reversal alarms, anti-freeze thermostats, pressure gauges, and more. These chiller units demonstrate excellent performance and have a longer lifespan. Throughout the entire operating cycle, a series of steps based on the fundamental principles of heat exchange are followed. They are essential for MRI machines that require precise control and regulation of chilled water temperature, allowing for precise control within the range of 5°C to 25°C, making them an important player in the modern industrial sector.
    1.Why Portable Air Cooled MRI Chiller Are So Essential?

    A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine is a standard diagnostic imaging system in hospitals and medical centers. It uses powerful magnets to create detailed pictures of the inside of human body. These magnets are so powerful that they can cause objects to become magnetized. Therefore, MRI machines must be kept in very cold environments.

    The MRI machine’s temperature is controlled -270 degrees Celsius.This is because the colder the environment, the less likely it is that any deviations will affect the MRI machine.

    The portable air cooled MRI chiller helps maintain the MRI machine‘s temperature and prevents it from getting too hot. If there is no constant cooling water or the water from the MRI chiller stops,the MRI machine temperature is too high, it can affect the quality of the images that are created and eventually halts operating . Additionally, if the machine gets too hot, it can be dangerous for the patient using it.

    3.What Are The Main Components Of Portable Air Cooled MRI Chiller ?

    3.1 Compressor
    The compressor is the key mover in portable air cooled MRI chiller because it produces pressure variations to stir the refrigerant around, which used Panasonic or Danfoss brand compressor, using R410A/R407C refrigerant,this brand compress is with high refrigeration efficiency,low noise ,energy saving,environmental protection and durability,safety and stability.

    3.2 Evaporator
    The evaporator is a crucial component of portable air cooled MRI chiller unit, as it is responsible for extracting heat from the liquid being cooled,it is located between the compressor and the expansion valve. There are three types of evaporators : coil in water tank evaporator , shell and tube evaporator, 304SS stainless steel plate type evaporator.

    3.3 Water Pump
    The water pump is designed to increase the pressure and the flow of the chilled water in a closed space. 
    the water pressure water pump for chiller is about 2 bar , but if you need more higher water pressure , pls tell us when you inquiry .

    3.4 Condenser

    The condenser for portable air cooled MRI chiller is equipped with efficient cross-seam fins and female threaded copper tubes for high heat exchange efficiency and good stability.Its function is to cool down the refrigerant steam released from the compressor into a liquid or gas-liquid mixture.

    4. How I Can Choose The Right Portable Air Cooled MRI Chiller ?

    There are four important chiller specifications you need consider when you choose a chiller for your application :the voltage required for operation, the associated pump horsepower and flow rate (contact us for custom selection), refrigerant, and the evaporator type.

    4.1 Power

    Different countries and regions have different standards for industrial electricity, the common power supplies are 208-230V, 380-420V,440-480V,50Hz or 60Hz, 3phase.

    Such in Philippines ,the power supply is 220V 60HZ 3PH , 380V 60HZ 3PH ,460V 60HZ 3PH;

    in Singapore and Malaysia ,the power supply is 415V 50HZ 3PH;

    in Mexico ,the power supply is 220V 60HZ 3PH;

    In USA ,the power supply is 208V 60HZ 3PH;575V 60HZ 3PH;480V 60HZ 3PH and so on

    4.2 Water Pump

    When you decide the capacity/tonnage of the chiller, we will recommend you the suitable pump in KW,which standard water pump is about 2 bar .If you need more high water pressure , please us when you inquiry.

    4.3 Refrigerant

    R22, R410A, R407C, R404A, R134A are optional choices.

    R22: good cooling effect, but R22 is considered a powerful greenhouse gas, so it’s forbidden in most countries.

    R410A: eco-friendly, R-410A has replaced R-22 as the preferred refrigerant for use in residential and commercial air conditioners in Japan, Europe, and the United States. R-410A operates at higher pressures than other refrigerants.

    R407C: a good replacement for R22, good cooling effect.

    R404A: suitable for application that requires low temperature(below -10°c).

    R134A: a non-flammable gas used primarily as a “high-temperature” refrigerant, suitable for air-cooled chiller working at a high ambient temperature above 50℃.


    4.4 Evaporator Choose

    Chillers generally have two types of evaporators: one is coil in water tank evaporator ,the other one is shell and tube evaporator.

    Coil and tank evaporator, which has a built-in water storage tank for more convenient use,so there’s no need for extra buffer tanks. This is also our standard evaporator for chiller , if you don’t have buffer tank ,we just use this evaporator for your chiller.(See Above 2.2)

    1.How does a chiller system work?
    Chiller has two circulation,one is process water circulation,the other is refrigerant gas circulation.Heat picked up from the process.Heat transfers to refrigerant circulation.Heat is remove to air or water.

    2.How to calculate right cooling capacity for chillers?
    One of the most frequently ask about how we can know the cooling capacity for chillers. Let’s see the below formula.
    Cooling Capacity(kw)= Flow Rate(m3/h)*Temp Change(T1-T2)/0.86
    Heat Load= C(specific heat)* M(quality output per hour )*Temp Change(T1-T2)
    Oversize the chiller by 20% Ideal Size in KW = KW x 1.2
    Noted : T1:Incoming Water Temperature (℃)      T2:Required Chilled Water Temperature(℃)    
        
    For example, what size of chiller is required to cool 5m³ water from 25°c to 15 °c in 1 hour?
    Temperature Differential = 25℃-15℃=10℃
    Water Flow Rate = 5 m³/hour
    Cooling Capacity in KW = 5 x 10 ÷ 0.86 = 58,14 KW
    Oversize the chiller = 58.14 x 1.2 = 69.76 KW
    69.96kw cooling capacity for chiller is required.

    3.Types of chiller system?
    There are two types of chiller :Air Cooled Chiller and Water Cooled Chiller.
    Water cooled chiller needs a separated water cooling tower and water cooling pump ,if you don‘t have exsiting water cooling tower,we suggest you use air cooled chiller; But if your ambiemt temperature is very high above 55℃ ,we suggest you use water cooled chiller , as it is easier to dissipate heat for water cooled chiller with water cooling tower.

    4.Whether chillers need built-in Tank or not?
    In a chiller system, a tank is usually equipped to buffer the thermal load of the chiller.
    But should we choose a built-in type of tank or an external type of tank?
    A chiller with a built-in tank is easier to install and can be used simply by connecting a water pipe to your application. 
    But it has a limited capacity and is not suitable for applications with larger chilled water demands.External tank’s capacity can be customized according to specific needs. 
    It can buffer a larger heat load, store more chilled water, but the installation will be more troublesome.
    If you don‘t have external water tank ,we suggest our chiller built-with water tank ,which is easy for you to install.
